How Can I Help You?
A FREE Skills and Resources Training for People on the Front Lines
Our first Resources Training, held last September in Northshore, was such a success that we’re doing it again, this time in Shoreline!
One of the biggest obstacles to helping others often is the simple fact that we don’t know how. We all want to be helpful, but when we don’t have the skills or resources, being asked to help by someone in immediate need can be daunting. Bring your questions to this FREE training, at which we will discuss what local resources are available for people in need, and how you can help connect the two. Attendees will leave with a new sense of knowledge and empowerment to make a difference in our community.
When: Wednesday, March 29
4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Where: Shoreline City Hall Council Chambers
17500 Midvale Ave N, Shoreline, 98133
Who: Anyone who wants/needs to know how to assist those facing hunger, homelessness, and more, and/or whose job puts them on the front lines. Everyone is welcome! Spread the word!
What do we mean by “people on the front lines”? Anyone whose job or life puts them in a position where they may be approached by people in need, but who may not have the resources, skills, information, or training to handle the situation with confidence. This might be someone working at a deli counter, who is asked for food. A church secretary, who is approached by a family needing shelter. Or even someone working at a human services organization, who is an expert on his or her own agency, but who could use more information on what others in the region have to offer.
